General Announcements:
Communicant Enquiry: If anyone has become a Christian and is thinking of becoming a communicant member of the congregation would you please inform the Rev. Smyth. A series of Communicant Enquiry classes will then be arranged in time for the November Communion. If you are not sure what this entails please also speak to the Rev. Smyth.
House Groups: We are hoping to organise House Group Bible Studies to meet on the second Wednesday of each month. This will include the possibility of a group meeting in the afternoon. If you intend going to an afternoon or evening group please add you name to the list in the vestibule. (There is a separate column for those going to the afternoon group.)
Ladies’ Art Workshop: A date for the diary for the ladies in the congregation... On Friday 19th September there will be a ladies (& girls in year 8+) art workshop with Sandra Shaw. Please don't be put off if art isn't your thing! Sandra will guide us through step by step in designing a journal and log slice. It would be great to have many of the women in our congregation there, sharing in fellowship together and a lovely evening spent in each others company. £12pp, including refreshments as well as the workshop.
Ladies’ “Fashion and Faith” event: A save the date note for our "Fashion and Faith" event on Saturday 18th October at 2pm. Come and enjoy an afternoon tea and fashion show featuring Melanie Bond sharing about her journey in faith and fashion. Tickets £20. More details to follow!
Heating Requests: if you have any hall or church heating requests, as organisations are now returning, please contact Sam Whiteside.
Connect: Connect runs every Thursday morning from 10.30am. We provide tea and coffee, scones, games of pool, armchair aerobics, crafts and many other activities. We also like to sit and chat over a coffee. Why not come along and join in? Everyone will be made very welcome. If you require any further information please speak to Heather Campbell or Danny Todd.
CPC Youth Weekend is happening from Friday 24th - Sunday 26th October at Ardnaluin House in Newcastle. This is for all young people in Year 8 - Year 14, we would love to have you along. Please speak to Jemma to secure your spot. Cost is TBC.
Youth Weekend Fundraiser: We will be having a Youth Weekend Fundraiser on Saturday 27th September from 2pm-4pm. We appreciate the congregations support in the past with this. It is great being able to keep the cost down for the young people and their families so that they can come along for an enjoyable weekend spent with other young people, having fun, building relationships, but most importantly deepening their relationship with God and learning more about him.
Mental Health Training Evening: Dr Andrew Collins , Consultant Psychiatrist , will be coming to the Church to give a talk entitled “Christ’s Care In Mental Health Struggles”. The date and time are
Wednesday 15th October at 8pm. More details to follow. Many thanks. Heather M.Special Announcements:
