Prayer Points:
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with eachother, and the blood of Jesus, His son, purifies us from all sin." 1 John 1:7
*Give praise anew for God's grace to us, that despite being undeserving, He has saved us through the death and resurrection of His son.
Thank Him that this is just a starting point and that He, through the Holy Spirit, enables us , in our daily lives, to become more like Him.
*Lift to Him our worship sessions on Sunday . Ask God's blessing on Rev Smyth as he leads our Communion service in the morning. and the Thanksgiving in the evening. Pray especially for the new communicant members, that we may all share a renewed sense of God's presence and enabling power.
*Pray the above verse into our lives as a church fellowship/family: that we may walk in His light and through prayer and bible study, individually and collectively, seek to deepen our relationship with God and our fellowship with eachother..and reflect His light to those in the Carryduff community.
*Ask God to be with those who have been bereaved in recent days. In their sadness, may they be aware of the light of God's presence, peace and strength as they adjust to life without their loved one.
Pray that we may be sensitive and know how best to support them in word and deed .
*Within the Presbyterian Church, thank God for the creativity of those working in the area of Public Affairs as they seek to engage in debate about matters which impact society. Give thanks for the "Graciously Confident " podcast recently launched, that many will listen and be better equipped to discuss various topics with others, from a Christian perspective.
*Pray for the country of Jamaica which has dominated the news recently as it and nearby regions have been devastated by Hurricane Melissa..lives lost and the environment destroyed.
Lift to God the aid agencies, one of which is "Samaritans Purse" as they co ordinate with Local Authorities to plan emergency aid delivery as soon as possible.
See PCI website for additional prayer topics.
