‘And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.  For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great for me, and holy is his name.  And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation.”  Luke 1 v 46-50

On this fourth Sunday of Advent let us pray for a renewal in our lives of knowing God’s everlasting love for us. Pray for a greater desire in our hearts to show this love to others this Christmas time.  “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” John 15 v 12,13

Continue to pray for the remaining outreach opportunities that will take place in Carryduff this Christmas. Pray for the Christmas Family Service, Carols by Lamplight Service and Christmas Morning Service.  Give thanks for the gifts that God has given to those who will sing, play, read and preach in these services.

Give thanks for the faithfulness of God in Carryduff Presbyterian Church throughout 2025. Pray for God’s guidance, wisdom and blessing upon our church as the new year begins.

Remember in prayer the emergency services in our nation who work continuously to keep our communities safe and to provide urgent medical care to those in need.  Pray that they will experience God’s care upon their lives as they work and that they will find time to come together with family and friends this Christmas.

Lift up in prayer our brothers and sisters who are celebrating Your birth in the shadows of fear, violence, and restriction. While many of us gather in safety, we remember those who must meet in secret or who face physical danger for professing Your name.
