Youth & Childrens Leaders Gathering

There will be a leaders gathering for all Youth & Children’s organisations within our church on Monday 29th June at 7pm.

All leaders and helpers within any of these organisations are invited along to our church halls, so we can encourage each other and discuss what has been working well, how we can improve and share new ideas and initiatives.

All leaders in charge should have made contact with their leaders and helpers to invite and encourage all to come along.

Safeguarding

Any organisation leaders who have not completed the Access NI Revetting process, please do so and get your form to me on or before Monday 30th June.

This will facilitate all leaders being ready to start in our organisations in September. Anyone who has not completed this , unfortunately won’t be able to lead in September.

Many thanks

Heather M

Prayer Points:
“With this in mind, be alert and always keep praying for all the Lord’s people ." Ephesians 6v18

Praise God for who He is, the creator and sustainer of the universe - infinite in power, wisdom, righteousness and love, and worthy of our worship and our obedience.

Continue to pray for our elders, giving thanks to God for the hard work undertaken by them and by Rev. Bostock to progress vacancy matters. Pray for God’s guidance when future decisions are taken and that He will overrule on who becomes our next minister.

Thank God that many boys and girls attended this week’s Holiday Bible Club. Pray that the Holy Spirit will grow the gospel seed in many hearts and that more children will come to our organisations, Breakfast Bible Club, Messy Church and Sunday School. Pray that God will draw more young families to worship in our church.

Pray for the recent General Assembly of PCI - that God would direct on the outworkings of decisions taken. Pray that God will give wisdom and strength to our new moderator the Right Reverend Dr Richard Kerr as he begins his year in office.

Pray for those known to us who are “suffering” in any way, including through bereavement, illness or illness of a loved one, family fall-outs or problems, loneliness and sadness, anxiety and depression. Pray that they would look to and find comfort in God.

Pray for the men, women and children, who have been intimidated out of their homes in Belfast and elsewhere in NI - that they would find safety and shelter. Pray for churches working in the affected areas, that Christ’s love would shine through. Pray that God would change the minds of lawless men intent on future violence. Pray for protection for the police officers on duty and that law and order would be restored.

Thank God for the work of international aid organisations including Barnabus, Tearfund and Christian Aid. Thank God for the generous amount raised for Christian Aid Week in Carryduff. Pray that God will guide on how and where the money is spent.

General Announcements:

Christian Aid Week- A Big Thank You!
A near-final total of £3448.77 was collected in the Carryduff area in Christian Aid Week (9-16 May). This was a very generous response. We would like to say a “Big Thank You” to all who made donations and returned their envelopes to the Carryduff Pharmacy (Hillsborough Road) and to our churches. Special thanks are also due to those, who delivered the envelopes, and to the staff at the Pharmacy, who helped in receiving them. As always, your donations will be used by Christian Aid to help those facing poverty across the world.

Heating Requests: if you have any hall or church heating requests please contact Sam Whiteside.

Connect: Connect runs every Thursday morning from 10.30am. We provide tea and coffee, scones, games of pool, armchair aerobics, crafts and many other activities.  We also like to sit and chat over a coffee. Why not come along and join in? Everyone will be made very welcome. If you require any further information please speak to Heather Campbell or Danny Todd.
